Montauk Sportfishing capital of the world is located at the Eastern end of Long Island, New York. The different types of saltwater fishing range from inshore , Summer Fluke, Porgies, Bluefish, and Striped Bass. Offshore fishing includes Cod, Pollack and Hake alone with all types of Shark and Tuna. The various Tuna are False Albacore, Longfin or True Albacore, Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna. Montauk waters are considered the most productive fish grounds in the world. Montauk's offshore fishing includes many fishing areas that are considered reasonably close to shore and are only 10 to 40 miles offshore for the most part. At times we have to travel 50 to 60 miles, which is considered a far trip for Montauk, but other ports this is the only way that they can even get close to catching a Tuna. I do recommend if the trip requires 60 miles of travel that a early start and late arrival be planned in order for your party to get six hours of fishing time. There are several offshore canyons that are fishable from Montauk. Our harbor is the closest to these canyons that are located on the continental shelf. Since the Movin-On is a lot faster, we can get to these locations on a daily basis. Other locations such as Conn., Rhode Island and the New York Bright area require 8 to 10 hours of running time before they can even put their lines in the water. It is possible to fish at MontauK well offshore in one day, this requires an extended day. Fishing at Montauk is conducted both night and day through out the season. Both boats fish both night and day, inshore and offshore through out the year.

All of our tackle is considered top of the line and always in good working order. We use nothing but Penn International 30TW-50Tw's for all of our Tuna and Shark fishing. The Movin-On is considered one of the most and best equipped sportfishing vessels in Montauk. The Movin-On is equipped with two fighting chairs, and we also specialize in stand up outfits.

Most of our inshore Trophy Striped Bass fishing is done with live or fresh bait, while we do use wire line for trolling this however is the least used method. Montauk offers some of the best Trophy Striped Bass fishing on the East Coast. Since our waters are right in the migratory path of Striped Bass and Blues, we can offer excellent fishing of both Bass and Blues from May thur December, both day or night. Most of our Tournaments are considered big money events and are run throughout the season. Our Shark Tournaments are the best on the East Coast and are principally run during the June/July/August period.

The MOVIN ON is equipped for all types of fishing as well as extended day. The MOVIN ON offers many special trips during the season to meet the desires of most fisherman. We offer early departure and extended trips to increase our time on the fishing grounds. Both boats carry all of the necessary safety equipment and has gone beyond the norm to ensure passengers safety is our utmost concern. Safety equipment includes a Life raft, along with Survival suits and Automatic EPIRB.
